UPDATE:

I still don't know what to say, but here's a bit more about me...

I no longer have a fiance and a baby on the way - I now have a lovely wife and a beautiful 4 month old baby daughter... along with all of the financial implications that entails! (Again please feel free to purchase from my store, and if it makes it any easier, don't think of it as buying more miniatures to add to the pile, think of it as donating money towards my mortgage and getting free figures J )

I realise now that I never included a mission statement for my business... I am endeavouring to provide miniatures that people find interesting enough to buy, paint and game with. I am not claiming to be a master sculptor and I fully expect people to dislike the majority of what I produce. I am doing this for me - I enjoy sculpting and I hope that some of you like what I am sculpting too.

I do appreciate constructive critism; if you don't like a figure of mine feel free to tell me, but tell me why you don't - I'll never learn otherwise! (oh and saying something along the lines of "I like it, but its not a <x company> miniature, so I wouldn't buy it" is not helpful!) Also if there is any particular style of miniature that you'd like to see in my store, please let me know and I'll add it to the schedule of minis I'm working on...

Ok, I think that's it for the moment... I've got another 7 months to think of further updates!

I never know what to say when someone asks me to talk about myself, but here goes...

I started sculpting properly in June 2008 after a few attempts over the previous year and I found it very enjoyable. I started this enterprise at the beginning of this year (2009), mainly as I was made redundant in September 2008 and after applying for what seems like thousands of jobs (including a job as a sculptor for Games Workshop) I was starting to get very down.

Needless to say GW didn't offer me a job, despite getting me to travel all the way to Nottingham for what they described as an 'interview' (I'd call it more of a face to face critique of my work). One thing that I did take away from that meeting was that the Head of GWs Design Studio described my work as competent and well up to the standard of many of the smaller companies... and that he was sure any number of them would want me to work for them. That got me thinking - why should I work for someone else when I could do it myself?

Of course, working freelance for some of the smaller companies is also an option; I have had commissions from various small miniatures producing enterprises.

So here I am now - I have a fledgling business, a fiance, baby on the way, two cats and a mortgage... So if you can find it in your hearts to buy something from my site I'd really appreciate it (even if it is just a pity purchase! I'm not proud!).

Thanks
